Getting around Nivalis Nights

In Nivalis Nights you cross the city in automated HOVA taxis and on the metro, take a flying taxi up to Skyhigh Gardens, and steer your own boat on the water. You cannot drive a car: “You won’t be able to drive cars, but you will be able to pilot your own boat.”

Every way to travel

What you can’t do

Drive a car
Not possible. Taxis take you between districts instead, and the boat is the one vehicle you steer.
Run a taxi company
Also ruled out, because you will be busy with your restaurants and nightclubs: “The taxi companies will be running themselves.”
Skip the loading between districts
Not possible: “there will be loading screens when traveling between them”. None are mentioned within a district.

The cars overhead

The skies are full of flying traffic, but you only ride in it as a passenger. In an early build a taxi ride played as a cutscene of the cab swooping up into the floating traffic, which suggests the city is split into hub areas. A trailer also showed a pixel-art subway map screen. The launch build may differ.

Travel less, do more

With loading between districts, where you live matters. The studio suggests keeping an apartment in a well-placed spot to cut journey time, and you can rent several; see apartments. Where each place sits is on the districts page, and the water routes tie into fishing.
