Can you preorder Nivalis Nights?

No. Until launch the Steam page offers no purchase and no pre-order, only a wishlist button. The launch itself is 29 September at 15:00 UTC, and the studio has tied its 10% discount to the launch.

What you can do before launch

  1. Wishlist it on Steam. It keeps the game one click away on launch day. The studio said the count has passed a million: “1 million of you have added our game to your wishlist”.
  2. Note the unlock time. The launch is one instant worldwide. The release date page shows it on your own clock, including why East Asia sees 30 September.
  3. Check your PC. Four official tiers, all needing 42 GB on an SSD. Run the requirements checker before launch day, not after the download.
  4. Pick your store. Steam is the only store open on launch day. The Epic version follows later with no date, covered on the Epic Games Store page.

Why there is no pre-order

Asked why other games take pre-orders and this one does not, the lead writer answered: “Some studios need to do that for their financials but we don’t.” On Steam, the wishlist is the way to line it up before the unlock.

Does waiting cost you anything?

Not on anything announced. The studio has named no pre-order bonus, no Deluxe edition and no early unlock, so there is nothing a pre-order would have secured. The one launch perk is the discount, and it arrives with the launch itself. The studio has not said how long it runs, so check that Steam still shows it before you buy. Pre-loading

A pre-load needs a purchase first, and there is nothing to buy before launch. No pre-load has been announced. At 42 GB, a slow connection is worth planning around: clear the space on an SSD ahead of time.

Keys from other sites

ION LANDS and 505 Games have named Steam for launch and the Epic Games Store for later, and no other seller. A key offered somewhere else before launch does not come through any channel the studio or publisher has announced.

From launch day the game is an ordinary Steam purchase at the prices on the price page, with the launch discount for as long as Steam shows it.
