Launch and buying
- When does Nivalis Nights come out?
- 29 September 2026 at 15:00 UTC on Steam, one instant worldwide, so Seoul and Tokyo see it at midnight on the 30th. The release date page converts it to your clock.
- How much does it cost, and is it free?
- $24.99 in the US, with a 10% launch discount. It is a paid game. Euro and pound prices are on the price page.
- Can I pre-order it?
- Not before launch: on Steam you can only wishlist it. More on pre-orders.
- Is there a demo, or is it early access?
- Steam has no demo, and the game launches as a full release, not in Early Access. See the demo page and the early access page.
- Why is it called Nivalis Nights now?
- It was announced as Nivalis and renamed after the studio sorted out a legal matter with a third party. The studio says it is the same game. The name change.
Platforms and PC
- Is it coming to PS5, Xbox or Switch?
- Not announced. The studio says PC is its main focus and it is looking into other platforms. That is neither a yes nor a no. The platform board has every row.
- Is it on Game Pass?
- Neither ION LANDS nor 505 Games has mentioned Game Pass, and the game is not in the Microsoft Store catalogue. Xbox and Game Pass.
- Does it work on Steam Deck?
- Valve has not rated it, and the studio has not promised Deck support; it says it is exploring handhelds. The Steam Deck page.
- Can I play it on a Mac?
- Steam lists Windows only, and the studio says macOS and Linux are not being explored at the moment. Mac and Linux.
- Is it on the Epic Games Store?
- Later. The publisher confirms an Epic release after Steam, with no date yet. The Epic page.
- Will my PC run it?
- The studio published four tiers, from 1080p on Very Low (6 GB of VRAM) to 4K on Very High. Every tier needs 42 GB on an SSD. The requirements checker screens your graphics memory, RAM and Windows against them and lists the processor and card to compare.
- Which languages does it support?
- 11 languages for the text; spoken dialogue is English only. Languages and voice acting.
How it plays
- What kind of game is it?
- A first-person life sim built around a story: you take over a noodle bar, grow it into more venues, and split each day between the business and the people of the city. How a day plays.
- Is it multiplayer?
- No. The studio designed it as a single-player game with no multiplayer or co-op planned. Multiplayer and co-op.
- Can you romance characters?
- Some of them. Others can become friends, rivals or business partners. Who can be romanced has not been announced. Romance and how relationships work.
- Can you create your own character, or play in third person?
- Neither. You play in first person as a character with no customisation. Character creation and camera.
- Is it open world?
- Partly. You walk large districts freely and load between them, and some of the skyline is background. Open world and map size and the districts.
- Will it support mods?
- Not for now. The studio says modding tools are not part of the game’s scope at the moment. Mods.
- Is it a sequel to Cloudpunk?
- The studio has not called it one. It is set in the same city and described as a standalone experience. Cloudpunk and Nivalis Nights.
The city and your business
- What businesses can you run?
- You start with a noodle bar called Ramen Noir and grow into restaurants, ramen bars and nightclubs. Running your businesses and the menu.
- Can you fish and farm?
- Yes. You fish from your own boat out of the docks, and you rent greenhouses to grow ingredients. Fishing and greenhouses.
- Can you buy a house?
- You can rent or buy, from a small first apartment up to a standalone house on Calypso Island. Apartments and houses.
- How do you get around?
- HOVA taxis, the metro, a flying taxi to Skyhigh Gardens and your own boat. You cannot drive a car. Getting around.
- Who are the characters?
- The studio promises more than 130, and has named a handful so far. Every named character.
