Why Nivalis became Nivalis Nights: the name change
Nivalis Nights is the game announced as Nivalis, under a new title. ION LANDS renamed it after sorting out a legal matter with a third party, and said the game itself is unchanged: “It is the exact same game you have been waiting for, just with a fresh new title and logo.”
What the studio said
Since last October, we’ve been quietly sorting out a legal matter at ION LANDS with a third party behind the scenes.

The city in the game keeps the old name; only the title gained “Nights”. It is the same city Cloudpunk was set in, which the Cloudpunk page covers.
The quiet year, in short
- 2021 to 2025. Revealed and promoted as Nivalis, with regular community blogs on Steam. The delays in that stretch are on the release date page.
- October 2025 onward. The legal matter began and marketing went on hold.
- June 2026. The new name, a new logo, a new trailer and the September date arrived together. 505 Games now describes the game as “formerly known as Nivalis”.
Searching under the old name
Coverage, forum threads and videos from before the rename all say Nivalis, and older Steam posts still link the store page by that name. They are about this game. The trailers page collects the official videos released under the new name.
