Apartments and houses in Nivalis Nights

You begin Nivalis Nights in a small first apartment, and the studio says more than ten apartments can be rented, from minimal studios up to a standalone house on Calypso Island. You can also buy homes.

The studio puts the count plainly: “You will be able to rent out more than ten apartments and you can decorate them all as you like.” Some come partly furnished.

Rent or buy

Renting has no fixed cap: “You’ll be able to rent as many as your wallet allows”, and a home in the right district shortens your trips around the city.

Buying covers both “apartments and standalone houses across different districts of the city”, each district with its own style.

Rents, purchase prices and which districts have homes for sale are not known yet.

Furnishing it

The studio counts more than 620 furniture items, and “Each space can be customized to reflect your personal style, with furniture and decorations from unique local vendors.” Those vendors are spread across the city, and each range is set apart by its materials, so where you shop shapes the look of a room. You can place paintings, lights and furniture, and one of your homes can lean classic while another goes futuristic. The same vendor screen that sells ingredients has a furniture tab; the food page shows it.

In an early build, the game began in the starting apartment with free rein to move the furniture around before heading out.

More than somewhere to sleep

  • Storage. Each home is one of your inventories, alongside your personal one, your kitchens and any greenhouses.
  • Shelter at night. With a serial killer loose, the studio’s advice is: “respect the curfew, and stay within your home at night, you’ll be safe”. Curfew hours are not known yet.
  • Paid decorating. Once you are happy with your own place, other residents will pay you to do theirs to their brief. The businesses page covers that side job.
  • A place to rest away from home. Your boat also works as a bed; see fishing.
