Nivalis Nights multiplayer and co-op

Nivalis Nights is single-player only, with no online or local co-op. The studio says: “Nivalis Nights is designed as a single-player experience, and there are no multiplayer or co-op features planned.”

No multiplayer or co-op is planned. Steam lists no online, local or Remote Play Together mode.

What Steam’s feature list shows

Steam tags every game with its play modes. For Nivalis Nights the list has one: Single-player. None of the multiplayer tags (online co-op, shared or split screen, PvP, Remote Play Together) is there.

Steam AchievementsPersonal unlocks; the count has not been published.
Full controller supportOne controller, one player.
Steam CloudYour saves follow you between PCs.
Family SharingLets people in a Steam family borrow the game. It does not let them join yours.

Do you need to be online?

No. The studio says: “You will not require an internet connection when playing Nivalis Nights other than what the platforms require to update the game.” Cloud saves are the exception, since syncing them needs a connection.

Where the social side lives instead

The people you deal with are the city’s own characters. You can befriend them, fall out with them, go into business with them or romance some of them, and your rivals are other business owners you can sabotage after curfew. The relationships page covers how that works, and the romance page covers dating.

Sharing is limited to what you make yourself. There is a photo mode (see camera and photo mode), and the studio has not announced any way to visit another player’s city or restaurant.

Could co-op come later?

Having no plans now does not rule it out later. The studio has said “We definitely plan to keep supporting after release”, and tied that support to improving the game from player feedback. It did not mention multiplayer.
